O'Neill keen on Cup run

Martin O'Neill says he won't be underestimating Peterborough in Sunday's FA Cup clash as he targets a run in the competition.

The Black Cats head to London Road looking to continue their recent upturn in fortunes under O'Neill.

Tuesday's 4-1 thumping of Wigan took Sunderland's points tally under the Irishmen to 13 from six games, lifting them well clear of the relegation zone.

Having helped steer the Wearside club towards mid table O'Neill has now turned his attention towards the FA Cup and is hopefully of guiding Sunderland to the latter stages of the competition.

While O'Neill is up for the cup he admits his options for the game are limited as he continues to deal with a crippling injury crisis at the Stadium of Light.

"The draw is going to be made just after our game and it would be fantastic if our name is in there. That's what we all want," O'Neill told Sunderland's website.

"It won't be easy. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to see Peterborough myself but I've had them watched every week.

"The reports coming back don't surprise me, they're a very strong team and they're strong in confidence themselves.

"We will have some changes for the team on Sunday, but that will be mainly through players being injured."
