Gyan trains, continues recovery

Striker Asamoah Gyan continued his recovery from a hamstring injury as he took part in Ghana's first training session at the African Cup of Nations on Saturday.

Ghana's football federation said Gyan "continued (to) build up to full fitness" after all 23 players in the Black Stars worked out in Franceville.

Gyan's participation for Ghana's opening Group D match against Botswana on Tuesday was in doubt after he injured his hamstring at the beginning of the month.

Ghana insisted the forward was progressing well. He was treated at the squad's South African training base this month by Serbian physiotherapist Marijana Kovacevic, who gained fame in 2009 for using horse placenta to treat football injuries.
